England, oh my England, where did you go today?
You were meant to be in Africa, you had a game to play.
The defence stayed home, the team looked lost, the Germans ran amok,
The vuvuzelas gave the sound that best described our shock:
Blaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh……

Scripture can be oh so relevant at times. I am of course (as you would have already guessed) referring to Daniel 5:27.
Who said the Bible was out of date?

Shock, disappointment, blame, heads will roll!
Of course it is a professional sport and vital recreation and past time for so many – it is giving lots of hope to the young in South Africa.
I regret England lost the match but just think how much good the tournament has done overall for Africa in General. Ghana remain in and we might yet have a surprise winner.

Yesterday was the second only football match I have ever watched and even I could tell England were pants.
And the players and manager get paid millions for this?
At least the Olympics are still contested by amateurs. (They are, aren’t they? I’m a bit of an ostrich re sport in general)
Perhaps Team GB will help heal our embarrassment on teh ineternational stage.

England has some excellent players, but they were not a team.
