Just seen proof that Lampard’s goal didn’t go in after all. That makes me feel better. (The link came from a German newspaper…)

Oh thank goodness someone else saw it as I did. It’s like folk couldn’t even see (or wouldn’t see) the obvious zig zag on the goal line…..

Got back from the bandstand by the Thames in Kingston having played with Epsom silver band from 3.00p.m. until 5.00pm and saw your blog. By jingo you’re quick. Perhaps you should have been playing. As I got back to my car there were comments about my tuba to which I replied that I probably had more fun than they did. And they agreed wholeheartedly.

That’s brilliant, football fans that can laugh and cry at the same time are definitely the best sort.
I’d like to be cheeky and post a link to my wordpress blog if that’s OK – it’s got a definite football & Christianity flavour to it at the moment… http://garydavison.wordpress.com

the brits fought like lions…
nevertheless – as gary lineker once said:
“football is a simple game; 22 men chase a ball for 90 minutes, and at the end the germans always win.”
and now we won’t talk about wembley 1966 never ever again…
) *gg*
that goal also was an optical illiusion… *lol*

PhyshBourne is right. As a german I ejoyed discussing Wembley 1966 all the time. Now it’s over. The “goal” of Hurst was a wound, but a very sweet one. This time, I don’t like “ausgleichende Gerechtigkeit”. (don’t know the english term).
Maybe it would have been good for poor Gottfried Dienst, but he is 12 years dead. I saw an interview with his daughter, he took the burden of his decision to the grave.

A friend in Braunlage (Harz, Germany) sent this yesterday just for a bit of rubbing in. He has long time been a Braunschweig supporter and that’s tough. I told him that a Liverpool fan who just happens to be a bishop had been so quick off the mark.
Which German newspaper/comic did this crafty piece of imagery juggling appear in?

Ken, I happened to spot a tweet from Die Zeit and it took me directly to it.

I think it was not a paper that made the picture, but TV. I think I remember seeing this shortly after the match on the channel that aired the match, I think it was ARD…
