How do you tell a story in film in no more than three minutes and with a limit of six lines of ‘dialogue’?
Last summer Philips and director/producer Ridley Scott launched a global film-making competition called Tell It Your Way following its Cannes Lions
award-winning short-film project Parallel Lines. Entrants were given freedom of expression and could take up any theme they wanted. The following entry was a prize-winner, but all are worth looking at:
Like some of the Tony Blair Faith Foundation video shorts, these go to prove that you can tell alot with a little. Maybe preachers have something to learn about communication here – and that includes me.

Nick,
On the subject of cinema I wondered if you or any of your flock fancied signing the petition to save the David Lean cinema which is being closed along with the rest of the Clocktower complex in stages – the council hit a bit of a brick wall when they tried to close the museum and the lottery fund asked for the million pounds back. Of course spending cuts have to happen but lets face it Croydon doesn’t have much in terms of central government arts funding. The Braithwaite Hall has already closed and so have other rooms so the council maybe planning to simply flog the whole thing off. It’s all a bit mad too given they can find money for the Fairfield Halls. I’m usually very cynical about luvvies pleading for arts council funding etc but there is a plot to this story that is slightly more complicated but to be honest if you want more details contact the offical campain. You can contact them through their Facebook page.
Other supporters of the campaign include Julian Fellowes the screenwriter and the new comedy duo of Ronnie Corbett and Andrew Pelling who has since defected to the Labour Party – which just goes to show its never a waste of time writing your MP …another five years and I’ll have turned Gavin Barwell into a socialist.
Anyway the petition is here
