OK, Europe is on tenterhooks regarding the future of the Greek economy as its (and other countries’) fate appears to sit in the pockets of the Germans. And then – can you believe it – Germany get Greece in the Euro 2012 quarter finals this evening.
Perhaps they should simply reprise the epic game between the two countries thirty-odd years ago. Here it is:

Tempted to suggest that if Greece are two goals down at half-time Germany will just give them three goals and let them go through anyway…

Poor Greece. I watched the match and they just seemed tired and on the defensive. The penalty kick was small consolation and the closest thing to a ‘break they seemed to get. I was grateful the score wasn’t worse than it was.
I really did want Greece to win–do the same people have to be ‘good’ at everything?
