I have been promising to open a section of this blog for addresses, sermons, etc I have done in German. I have now given up trying to work out how to do it. So, I am about to post a load of texts dating from February 2008 to June 2012. I can’t think of another way of getting them on here. Future German texts will appear on this main page, accompanied by some embarrassment – I know it looks a bit of a pose, but I can’t get around it any other way.
There are obviously common themes. This is partly because of what I was asked to speak on, but also because of the limitations of my German. I always get help from friends, to whom I owe a great debt of gratitude. Sounding silly in your own language is your own fault, but sounding silly in someone else’s language is sillier.

Well done Nick, I hope those who can speak German enjoy, as we all do! Mxx

Good to wrestle with (not theologically – linguistically! That is my level of German I am afraid). Have you tried posting them all as a single “new page” in wordpress – the tab would appear at the top of the front page and could be kept separate from the main blog. Just a thought. I do this for stuff I read and review.

Huw, that’s how I started, but I could never remember how to save the texts as pdfs and then link them. So, I gave up and banged them on the main page. I am an embarrassing tekkie failure!

My spam filter went into overdrive with these posts. It allowed the first through than filtered the rest out. Obviously, I need to teach it to speak German. Perhaps I need to refresh my own first.

Surely you can just post them all under a particular category and then add that category to the menu?

Nick
I don’t know…the lengths you are prepared to go to to prevent me from posting! lol
Unfortunately I did not study German at school..it was Spanish only I am afraid..although we were meant to do French as well, but having asked us did we want to do it, our Head Teacher decided not to progress it any further!)
You will no doubt be relieved to hea that I will sit these posts out and leave it to the German experts, such as yourself!
